Finance, not sustainability, motivates cities

Cambridge, MA is home to Harvard and MIT. Yet the city is incapable of leading any sustainable initiative because it is subject to immense influence from developers. Even as its water resources dwindle under a changing climate, the city allows rampant development of new office/research space and housing.
